What will be the demographic and socio-economic landscape of Affluent Asia in 2031?

Table of Contents is given below

The countries defined as being part of Affluent Asia are Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.

This report examines the projected changes through to 2031 in the demographic and socio-economic profile of the more affluent countries of Asia.

These countries account for 14% of the world’s total GDP and 4% of the world’s population.  In the context of Asia, these countries account for 47% of the Asia’s total GDP (including China and India) but just 7% of the total population.  Clearly these countries are important economically. The total population of Affluent Asia is currently estimated at 238 million persons. However, 74% of this is accounted for by two countries (Japan and South Korea) and a further 19% by Taiwan and Australia.
